COVID-19 Antibody Test (Blood Test)

If you have a recent cough or a temperature or think you

currently have COVID 19,

DO NOT ATTEND.

Please be aware that all the guidelines and instructions below have been specifically written with the safety of our patients and staff in mind.

We kindly ask you to comply. If you have any queries, please read the guidance carefully, only calling us after reading this as our lines are very busy.

If you decide not to have the test that is totally fine – please contact us as soon as possible.

Our aim is to follow strict appointment times, allowing time for surface cleaning between patients and no overlap of patients.

The Phlebotomist undertaking the test will be wearing PPE – a mask, apron, and gloves.

The blood samples are sent directly to TDL laboratory in London and results take 24h
 

Interpretation of Results

COV-2 IgG < 1.4 Not Detected (Negative)

COV-2 IgG >=1.4 Detected (Positive)

Specificity 100%

Sensitivity 97.5%

BEFORE YOU COME

If you have a recent cough or a temperature or think you currently have COVID 19, DO NOT ATTEND.

We can rebook you for a later date.

On making an appointment, you will be asked to read the online information and respond

to the questions asked. This data will be kept securely in line with GDPR.

Payment for the test is via online payment before you attend and after you have read

and agreed to the terms and conditions.

Results from the testing will be shared with Public Health England as it is now a notifiable disease.

You must bring a photo ID with you (passport or driving licence) for identification purposes.

The test cannot be carried out without this.

All results are given verbally at the appointment and unfortunately, there is no time to discuss them.

We offer you an optional, free of charge phone consultation with one of our GP’s following the test

if you wish to discuss your results.

AT THE TEST

We are using a separate, dedicated testing room with a separate entrance so only patients for testing

will enter this way. Do not use our usual main entrance. 

This entrance is at the right side of the building (as you look at the front entrance).

Please walk carefully past the floor-mounted air con units.

There are no waiting facilities at the practice for this test and no toilet facilities for this test.

Only the patient attends for the test appointment (no accompanying family or friends)

If more than 1 member of a family is having the test, still only 1 person at a time.

If a child is having the test, only 1 parent per child

Please attend at your appointment time.

The appointments are strictly to time and we cannot accommodate latecomers

and you would be rebooked to another day. 

If you are driving, you can use our car park but remain in your car until your appointment.

If you arrive on foot, please remember to observe 2 meters social distancing guidance.

Once your test is completed, please directly leave the building and car park and return home.

After THE TEST

You will receive an email confirming your results to the email address you provided at booking.

This will also contain any relevant information on Self Isolation if required.

All results will be shared with Public Health England as it is a notifiable disease.
