Laboratory Testing

(Blood Tests)

At My Specialist GP we are pleased to offer private lab testing options that can be booked online directly with our Healthcare Assistant(HCA) who is a very experienced Phlebotomist.

You can either choose to have one of the specific tests we offer or if you know exactly the test you need, you can request your own.

From time to time, your GP or another healthcare professional will advise you to undertake a specific blood test or you may have an interest in monitoring your own health.

At My Specialist GP, we want to encourage our patients to take control of their health by being able to book their own tests when their concerns arise.

These tests do not include a medical interpretation (although you can book one with us subsequently) but nearly all do include a reference range indicating normal levels. We do, however, strongly recommend your results be viewed by a medical practitioner to assist you with your health.

If you would like one of our Doctors to assist with the results you can book a 20 minutes consultation here:

Most results are back the following day and these will be emailed to you.

We have selected the most commonly requested test packages and tests for you to easily chose the correct test for you. The test packages are biochemical profiles which are a series of blood tests used to evaluate the functional capacity of several critical organs and systems, such as the liver and kidneys.

Some tests require fasting (nothing to eat or drink except water for 8 hours prior) so please check carefully before booking

You can read more and book your next Lab testing with us directly below.

  • How long does it take?
First visit including initial assessment and very brief paperwork will take under 1 hour. Subsequent visits are under 40 minutes. All shots are under 10 minutes. The first visit will include a brief health questionnaire to make sure you are suitable and as it is a prescription treatment, our GP's will supervise your care. Each IV takes between 30-60 minutes to administer so we provide you with comfortable lounging chairs and reading materials for a relaxed experience.
  • What kind of preparation do I need to do before the IV infusion?
Generally no special preparation is needed. It is important however NOT to consume any alcoholic beverages within 4 hours of infusion.
  • Who CANNOT get an IV infusion?
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18 years of age or in generally poor health, undergoing chemotherapy, have history of heart disease, diabetes, uncontrolled hypertension or organ transplant, you should avoid IV infusion.
  • Are there any limitations after the infusion?
There are absolutely no limitations afterward. To gain maximum benefits, however, we recommend avoiding alcohol for the remainder of the day.
  • Will I bruise after the infusion?
Bruising at the site of the IV is uncommon, however can happen in people who are prone to easy bruising. We will take every step and precaution possible to minimize it.
  • How will I feel after the infusion?
After the infusion you will have a feeling of calm, sustained energy, mental focus, and overall wellbeing that can last up to 2-3 days. During the first 5-10 minutes you might actually taste vitamins. As the infusion begins, you might feel calm and very relaxed and some people notice a slight 'buzzy' feeling which is pleasant and is only temporary. You might also have the mild taste of vitamins in your mouth which is only for 5-10 minutes at the beginning of the infusion. Then depending on which infusion you have had, the effects last from a few days to 2-3 weeks for the Royal Flush.
  • How often should I get the infusion?
For maximum benefits we recommend “loading up” phase of 4 once-a week treatments followed by once or twice a month infusion “maintenance” phase. This would depend on the type of infusion you choose. The nurse or Doctor advising you will discuss with you the best times to attend.
  • Who will perform the infusion?
Highly trained nurses with over 20 years of experience will perform the infusion. At My Specialist GP we have both experienced doctors or a Clinical Nurse Specialist with over 20 years experience.
  • Where are these vitamins manufactured?
We pride ourselves on offering highest quality, purest grade of vitamins, amino-acids and anti-oxidants.
