Medical Care As Usual

With news of a second lockdown commencing on Thursday, we are pleased to be able to reassure our patients of a consistently smooth and ongoing service, with COVID-19 measures in place.

Read below for information on what we have put in place to keep you safe, and the different coronavirus tests we have available.

Appointments

We are dedicated to keeping the option of face to face appointments available with our specialist doctors at the clinic, as we want to be able to review you as a whole person, not just one symptom. If you feel uncomfortable with seeing our doctors face to face, or you are presenting with coronavirus symptoms, we do also have online and telephone consultations available.

When you enter the building, please wear a facemask. We have a thermal camera in the reception area that automatically records the temperatures of all people walking through the door - if it is raised we will ask you to wait outside and try again to see if you are momentarily hot. If your temperature is still raised, patients will be asked to wait outside until a doctor can assess you.

As you enter you will be greeted by our lovely receptionist team, who will ask you to wash your hands. Sanitisation stations are also placed around the building for your convenience.

You are able to book a consultation online quickly and easily.

Coronavirus Tests

My Specialist GP are able to offer a wide variety of coronavirus tests, ranging from a wait time of 20 minutes to 48 hours. To book a test or to find out more, click here.

- 24-48 hour RT-PCR test: This is a UKAS certified test. This test shows if you have the active virus and can be used between day 1-5 from onset of symptoms. You are able to purchase travel certificates with this test.

- 20 minute antibody test: We are currently using SureScreen COVID-19 antibody test kits, which are being used at Guys and St Thomas’ and King’s College hospitals.

- 24 hour antibody test: Through a more detailed blood test than the finger prick test above, the host immune system reacts to the infection by SARS-CoV-2 by producing antibodies from a few days to 2 weeks and beyond. This Abbott laboratory test is government approved.

From next week we will also have an in-house real time PCR system for results in 1 hour - more information to come shortly...

Whilst the lockdown measures tell you what you cannot do until the 2nd of December, we would like to remind you of what you can do. You are still able to exercise outside with one other person from a different household, visit a member of your bubble, and video chat with friends and family online.
